Activbody – Activ5 Portable Full-Body Workout Device
Following on their successful 2014 Kickstarter campaign, Activbody wanted a refined design for their next generation Activ5 device that would help them stand out in a crowded consumer wellness marketplace. Our design team partnered with Activbody to create an accessible, fun, and portable exercise experience. We sculpted a comfortable and durable body for the Activ5 and ensured that the device would work seamlessly with its companion smartphone app that coaches users through low-impact strength training exercises.

The time, space, training, and equipment needed to keep in shape often keeps people from meeting their fitness goals. Activ5 is designed to lower these barriers. With Activ5, you can get a great isometric workout at anytime, anywhere by simply pressing the Activ5 device between your palms or against your leg as instructed by the coaching app on your wirelessly-connected smartphone. When you squeeze the Activ5 device, the app responds to you how much pressure you are applying and builds a workout routine customized to your strength level and helps you track your progress.
The gentle contours of the device are designed to fit comfortably in your hand and are inspired by river stones and flowing water.
We helped Activbody prepare their Kickstarter offering for the mass market by creating a refined design language for Activ5. The custom retail packaging we created for Activ5 ties everything together and makes sure that a customer’s first impression of this product is a pleasant one.
